Fine Arts School

The volumetry of the School was projected after a analisys of the Aldo van Eyck's project, Amsterdam Orphanage.
He thought of a solution of square plants arranged in sequence, in which the environment is respected structurally, but acquire own identity by treatment of openings, materials and relationships with continuous environments.
In the study it was noticed that the building is like a mesh that can be manipulated and the spaces are distinguished by fulls, emptys and gaps.

The school will be situated in Greenland and its location was defined because of proximity to both Europe and United States, big centers of Art and collections. 200 km away from Nuuk, capital of the country, its coordinates are 65°35'47.37'' N and 48°36' 10.60'' O.
The mash distribution facilitates
the adaptation of the building to the land. The triangular shape gives the school originality and control of space. The triangle on "pilotis" indicates the entrance of the building,
that is stuck in local relief. There is a balance between areas covered by glass and masonry buildings and between single and double right foot is constant in the project. The use of glass on the roof of the squares intend to allow in natural light without any temperature exchange between the external and internal environment.
